Life Lessons Learned
“Life Lessons Learned: Haiku in Remix” is an interactive, text-based installation. 15 lines (from five haikus) are printed separately on magnetic stock. Each haiku distills a particular life experience that became a lesson for me. Viewers can then recreate their own poetry by moving the lines around. Writing poetry is an extremely personal and isolating experience. This piece examines how we relate to other people’s poetry by allowing for different types of interaction with the text, as well as democratising the ownership/audience issues surrounding poems.
